Things to consider when shopping for Dishwashers

Noise level is the spec most people wish they'd paid more attention to — anything under 44 dBA is quiet enough to run while you're in the kitchen; above 50 dBA and you'll notice it. Beyond that, look at place settings capacity (14–15 is right for most households), whether the tub is stainless steel (it dries better and lasts longer than plastic), and how the machine handles drying — auto door-open drying and condensation drying both outperform heated dry for plastics. A third rack for utensils and small items sounds like a luxury until you have one.
